BIOTIC NATURAL LIVING WALLS

The mural for the House of BioHealth in Esch-sur-Alzette is inspired by nature, biological cells, and the idea of a living organism growing across the wall and through the space.
The organic shapes and flowing forms represent growth, connection, innovation, creativity, and scientific discovery, values that reflect the work and spirit of BioHealth. The colours and composition were carefully chosen to create a sense of movement and energy while connecting the artwork with the surrounding architecture.
An important part of the design was to preserve sections of the existing concrete walls rather than covering the entire surface. The raw, industrial character of the concrete works in contrast with the colourful and organic forms of the mural.
This combination of industrial and organic elements creates a balanced visual experience, bringing both energy and calm to the space while making the mural an integral part of the environment.

Vëlodukt - Natierlech Brécke bauen

My work aims to integrate with the overall concept of the Vëlodukt, creating a connection between nature, architecture, and Belval’s industrial heritage.
The main motif is the reed, inspired by the Belval ponds. Its curved leaves are transformed into abstract bridges, creating a metaphorical link to the Vëlodukt while connecting the project to water and nature.
Different shapes, sizes, and layers create movement and transparency. The red, orange, yellow, and brown tones reference both the Vëlodukt and the industrial history of Schmelz Belval. Parts of the raw concrete remain visible, creating a contrast between the natural and industrial elements.
At the centre, the “Héichuewen” is covered with the same reed-inspired pattern. The visible tips suggest flames and fire, recalling Belval’s industrial past and bringing a metaphorical Héichuewen back into the landscape through nature and contemporary art.
